Open Garden Sunday 19th August 2018

EventsPosted by Greg Wed, August 22, 2018 21:42:38

Rosemary held a very successful Open Garden event at her home in Hanham on Sunday 19th August. She was a little nervous about holding the event and wondered if anyone would turn up.

She needn’t have worried as it was a lovely afternoon after a dismal morning and her house and garden were full of people chatting and enjoying the marvellous tea and cake, supplied by her band of willing helpers, especially Alex and Peter.

Rosemary’s garden is full of trees and shrubs with lots of hidden nooks and seating areas. Her garden shed with its beach scene was a real talking point!

Rosemary managed to raise the magnificent sum of £400 for the Huntington’s Disease Association.

We were delighted to welcome 107 families and friends to this event. This included a number of children, who were kept busy by Glenn Dutton. The atmosphere was brilliant and yet another perfect Family Day, organised and arranged by Carol Dutton, with the support of so many people, who helped out. Our heartfelt thanks to everyone

The AGM at Somerdale Pavilion on 4 April

EventsPosted by Greg Wed, August 22, 2018 21:29:01

Debbie Nicholl remained as Treasurer for Financial Year 18/19, with Fay and Greg Marsh and Corrina Gillman, joining as Committee Members. Carol Dutton gave a presentation on her area and outlined the plans for Family Day in June. Mainly due to the money raised through the people who took part in the Great Weston Ride, The Bristol Half and the Bristol 10K, we were able to agree to send £4000 to Head Office, split between Research and the Specialist Huntington’s Disease Advisers. Brilliant! We had also spent £2500 on purchasing domestic electrical items, beds & bedding, carpets, food vouchers, National Trust Membership, Taxis and a Television.

Please let your Specialist HDA Carol Dutton or Shirley Bignell know, if there is anything we can help you with during this Financial Year and we will do our best to help.
