The management and patrons of the Colosseum Public House in Redcliffe Hill held a charity day to support the Huntington's Disease Association.
Following a safety briefing from the organiser, Tow Ward, they pulled an agricultural tractor from the top of East Street in Bedminster to St Mary Redcliffe Church. Originally the pull was to include a trailer but due to the cold, wet and slippery conditions it was decided to just pull the tractor - a mere 8 tonnes!
We did slow down the flow of traffic in the area for about 45 minutes but the honks from local motorists were definitely of the supportive kind. Congratulations to the marshalls, the pullers and the collectors, who all got very wet but stuck to the task! Thanks to them the people of Bedminster are certainly more aware of Huntington's Disease.
After the tractor pull we all returned to the Colosseum to dry off, warm up and sample the delights of the Colosseum bar. We were fed by two wonderful ladies with a hog roast and entertained with karaoke.
There was also a raffle and an auction with some wonderful sporting memorabilia.
If you couldn't make it to the event, there is a Just Giving page for donations at, https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/melanie-carruthers.
